LONG RANGE WIDE AREA NETWORK
What is LoRaWan?
LoRaWAN stands for ‘Long Range Wide Area Network’ and is a radio protocol that was specially developed for communication over long distances.
The enormous energy efficiency ensures low energy consumption and long-lasting battery life (up to 10 years).
LoRaWAN is a central component of the Internet of Things (IoT), especially where devices run on battery power for long periods of time and only occasionally need to send or receive small amounts of data.
Benefits, added value and applications
When it comes to the benefits and added value of LoRaWAN, it is helpful to rethink and plan regular and recurring procedures or processes using sensor technology and digitalisation.
LoRaWAN enables efficient and automated recording of consumption data. Manual reading is no longer necessary, which saves time and conserves internal resources.
At the same time, you receive precise, continuous insights into the energy consumption of your business premises – ideal for analyses and for identifying potential savings. As an IoT technology, LoRaWAN is future-proof, scalable and ideal for digital transformation.

LoRaWan and sensor technology in aduno®
The aduno® platform enables the connection and management of a large number of sensors and offers functions such as data visualisation, alerting and data analysis. At the same time, aduno® is a cloud-based platform based in Germany.
Sensor detail page
You can expect extensive details for each sensor, both on the current status and with a comprehensive history.
The measured values are clearly visualised and the accessibility and availability of the device are continuously monitored. The current status is displayed, as well as a history of up to 90 days.
Real estate
aduno® provides a property management system where the sensors can be clearly assigned to properties, levels or areas.
The LoRa sensors of the properties can be summarised in groups and configured globally.
Thresholds and notifications
Threshold values can be set for each sensor type and for individually configurable device groups. If the value (e.g. temperature) of a device to which this threshold value has been assigned exceeds the value set here, a warning (or fault) is triggered.
The warnings and faults are only triggered within an adjustable time schedule; the values of the device outside this schedule are not taken into account.
If warnings or faults are triggered, they are listed in the monitoring area of the portal. At the same time, the people who have been set in configurable recipient groups are informed by e-mail.
