Senior Full-Stack Symfony / PHP-Developer (w/m/d)

What you can expect

A greenfield project in a class of its own!

You will be part of a small, agile team developing our new core product from the very first line of code. No legacy baggage, no compromises – just state-of-the-art technologies and best practices.

Your mission

  • Development & co-design: You will actively develop and design the architecture of our new Symfony application
  • Full-Stack Development: Development of a comprehensive testing strategy with PHPUnit, Symfony Panther and Playwright for maximum code quality from day one
  • Quality assurance: Aufbau einer umfassenden Teststrategie mit PHPUnit, Symfony Panther und Playwright für maximale Code-Qualität von Tag 1
  • Data architecture: Design and optimisation of MySQL database structures and integration of the ELK stack for powerful logging and monitoring
  • DevOps & Deployment: Containerisation of the application with Docker and establishment of efficient deployment processes
  • Best Practices: Establishment of coding standards, code reviews and continuous improvement of development workflows

What you bring to the table

Must-haves

  • Symfony expertise: Several years of in-depth experience with Symfony (ideally 5+ years)
  • PHP-Mastery: Excellent knowledge of PHP 8+ and object-oriented programming
  • Database know-how: Proficient in MySQL, including performance optimisation and complex queries
  • Testing mindset: Practical experience with test-driven development and the aforementioned testing tools (PHPUnit, Panther, Playwright)
  • Docker knowledge: Confident use of Docker for local development and deployment
  • Frontend skills: Solid knowledge of modern JavaScript, HTML5 and CSS3

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Symfony Asset Mapper or interest in modern, build-tool-free frontend approaches
  • Knowledge of the ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana)
  • Understanding of clean architecture and scalable system designs
  • Experience with greenfield projects
