Rheinbahn and Unitymedia Business equip buses with WLAN
50 years ago the Beatles set out on a bus for the “Magical Mystery Tour” with interesting people, fun, gossip, new songs and crazy ideas in their luggage. With WLAN, every bus trip can be an equally exciting journey today: shopping, chatting, surfing, listening to music are quickly done. This is made possible by a cooperation between the Rheinbahn and Unitymedia Business. The business customer division of the leading cable network operator in North Rhine-Westphalia will equip 80 Rheinbahn buses with WLAN in a six-month test run. The offer is advertised with stickers in the vehicles and can be used immediately free of charge.
Parallel to the start of the WLAN offer, Unitymedia Business and its partner ituma GmbH, Hilden, are developing an interactive information and communication portal for the Rheinbahn, which will serve as the start page for the WLAN offer. In the future, various content will be integrated on the home page: service information, news or entertaining entertainment formats such as videos or music for passengers.
